It rained this morning as we opened our Christmas presents. Poured really. It finished as we did and while sitting around the kitchen table sharing pecan pie and the oranges from our stockings (of which mine was actually a grapefruit) we watched three blue jays, two cardinals, a woodpecker, four very small blackbirds, and a squirrel hopping around our small backyard. I half expected a festive holiday boarder and the words "Virginia is for Lovers" to appear above the trees.
It was a good Christmas to be at home.
It was a bad Christmas to be a worm.
