We finished closing the store around 4 this morning and Nick and I were standing outside talking while the street cleaner circled the parking lot. After a while we both noticed the smell of smoke and large plumes billowing about. Last week we noticed the same thing and on the drive to Ihop we passed by the Mattress store completely engulfed in flames. Tonight, naturally, we were a little concerned and decided to investigate a bit. I got about 20 feet from where we were standing and realized that the mulch under the bushes by the sidewalk was burning. There was a growing black circle where it had turned to ash and every once in a while a little flame would leap up.
Nick and I looked at it for a while and the street cleaner came by to see what the deal was. He told us we should run inside to get water to put the fire out before driving away. Nick and I thought about it for a minute before getting in our cars and driving away too.
If Maleks, Mcdonalds, CVS, Giant, and Chicken Out aren't there in the morning it's completely my fault.

Friday night I had to work with incompetent Erin at the restaurant. The girl cannot seem to do anything by her self no matter how simple and one person job-ish it may seem. Not to mention everything she touches somehow manages to turn to complete confusion and she insists on touching EVERYTHING.
After a long hard night of dealing with her and maintaining a constant state of slight to major panic because I cant keep track of anything and never know whats going on thanks to her meddling all I want to do is count the money, credit cards, and take the driver's money and get the hell out of there. I stared at the daunting pile of important papers, unorganized because I was busy all night and erin was nothing if not a hindrance to the working process, and Erin came up to me.
"Um, do you think you could do the mopping tonight?"
"No."
"Well, I did all the other side work and really hate mopping."
"No, all the side work is your job and so is mopping."
"It's just that I have to mop, like, every night. I'm sick of it."
(Here is when I get a little outraged)
"You work 2 days a week, I work six. I mop every night. Go fucking mop."
That's about how all of our conversations go.
Anyways, after the long night I did my share of complaining to my coworkers and friends about how much I hate her and how she only makes my life harder and how I would rather do the job all by myself than have her around.
Tonight I went in scheduled to work with her again. When I got there she was nowhere to be found. My boss told me she had a seizure and wouldn't be coming in tonight so I'm the only one.
I expect that this has cemented my eternity in hell.
